Laine is one of those type of players that Torts will kill, no way he gets traded to Columbus. |

Either that or make him really great. I think Laine is young enough that Torts might really just unleash all his substantial skill and turn him into a monster..
Or he could just Rekt him. I think one of his issues is that Maurice is just a clown ...

As you are "tracking" this Barzal deal, can you ask around about his dreams to play in LA. Is this a sign and trade to go to LA? Is there a possible 3-way deal involving Barzal, Dubois, and Laine? Or maybe 4-way with Ghost + JVR? |

Not buying it. Saw pundits on Youtube claiming the same but no concrete proof of anything here. Just circular reporting. |

After this season Laine will be an RFA with arbitration. He'll probably only want a one year contract so he can roll inta UFA status. So if it's Dubois for Laine+, I want it only if it's a sign & trade where Laine signs a multi-year contract.
Dubois would be under team control for 2 more years after this one. |

That doesn't make sense. Patrick Laine is only 22 years old. You can't roll into unrestricted free agency until you're 27. Perfect example is Sam Reinhart who signed three contracts now. He will still be a RFA after this one-year deal ends. |

Makes zero sense then Columbus would be without a number one center . Dominos is a #2c at best |

LoL... Dubois, Laine, Barzal, Sergachev, all involved in the same trade |

You become a UFA before 27 if you have 7 accrued NHL seasons. This season will put Laine at 5, so after this season Laine will be UFA eligible in 2 years when he's 25 |

I think this is a complicated trade to make and requires a lot of thought and planning 4, 5, 6 years down the road. In my opinion a 1 for 1 favours Winnipeg here.
I think it goes along with the same debate ya'll been having about Laine.
I feel PL Dubois is a much more complete player than Laine at the moment and that is something that the Blue Jackets need to hold on to. I never like agreeing with Augello but having Laine AND Dubois is more ideal. *shudders* Laine is "the cherry on the top of the sundae".

Yeah . . . my bad on my previous statement about RFA status. I was obviously confused. I've now been educated on the 27 y.o. OR 7 yrs of NHL service.

Laine + Stasny for Dubois + Savard - Turnitaround
Laine for Dubois, then to NYI for Barzal, then to Philly for JVR + Ghost, then to Calgary for Gaudreau, then to Toronto for Nylander, then to Chicago for Toews + Keith, then to LA for Doughty. Whoever ends up with the most cap space signs Hoffman who will NOT be reporting to the Blues camp. Vegas misses the playoffs. So do the Caps who are old and just got older. Sorokin wins the Calder AND Vezina. Just reporting what sources are saying. |

If a Jackets-Jets trade goes down would Roslovic be included somehow? ( he is from Columbus and has asked for a trade so it seems fitting ) |
